Biography of Author Jason Kelly

Jason Kelly started as a youth assistant soccer coach in 1994. Since then, Kelly has earned an Under-13 Coaching Certification from the United States Soccer Federation, an "A" Instructor's license from the International Sports Chanbara Federation, and was inducted into the Martial Arts Master's Hall of Fame. Jason Kelly is a certified cardio kickboxing instructor and has black belts in karate, aiki-jujitsu, traditional weaponry, sword, and tae kwon do, with the highest rank being a Third Degree Black Belt in karate. Kelly formerly owned a martial arts studio. Jason Kelly has been a volunteer coach in soccer, basketball, and baseball consistently since 1994. He currently teaches martial arts out of a private center.

Jason Kelly graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law, where he served on the Executive Board of the Arizona Law Review, and he has been a litigation attorney with the law firm of Schneider & Onofry since 2000. Jason Kelly was a founding member and Chairman of the Board of the non-for-profit Youth Suicide Prevention and Education Programs, Inc., and he has been a Board Member of the Arizona Suicide Prevention Coalition since 2005. Mr. Kelly is the legal advisor to the American Kyokushin Karate Organization, Inc., the United States Chanbara Federation, Inc., ActionFlex Combative Weaponry, LLC, and the Ballet Academy of Arizona.

Currently, Jason focuses his time on practicing law, teaching youth martial arts, leading cardio kickboxing classes for adults, putting on self-defense seminars, coaching youth soccer and baseball, volunteering for the organizations listed and keeping physically fit. Jason Kelly resides in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife of 14 years, Amy, his two children, Jason and Julia, and his dogs Brennan and Bella. Kelly is a parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Church and thanks the Jesuits for teaching him the value of a daily self-examination.
